I moved to Ecuador back in 2008 when I saw the writing on the wall about the state of the US economy and the direction the country was headed. I decided it was time to go, and chose Ecuador as my and my cat's new home.

Jeff is from all over Canada.

I moved to Ecuador just a few months after Lulie, escaping with my dog from the harsh winters. I'm a technical writer for a company in Canada. The virtual nature of the company allows me to live wherever there's an internet connection. So I chose Ecuador.

I also own some other Web sites which earn a small income for us every month.

Lulie and I met in Cotacachi, in the north of Ecuador, and a year later we married. Shortly after, we moved to Cuenca where Lulie teaches English to Cuencanos.

We were able to weather the recent recession fairly well because we lived in Ecuador. The prolonged downturn in the US, and the ways that the government is dealing with it (or not dealing with it) led us to investigate ways to protect our assets from currency devaluation and the inflation expected to arrive soon.

Jeff's years of following financial information, and our recent research, led us to silver and gold. We believe that both have significant long-term growth potential.

We admit that there's a lot of volatility right now due to uncertainty in national and regional policies. But over the long term, we're planning to expand our holdings of silver and gold.
